What Are You Thankful for This Year?

Nestled inside of the word Thanksgiving is another great word, “giving.”

I believe life is better when we give. Once again, we have an opportunity to “give thanks” to those in our lives that have given their time, resources, advice, and love.

In Acts 20:35, it says, “In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.”

So here are three important groups of people to give thanks to this holiday season:

Say thanks to your team.

Teamwork is an essential aspect of so many facets.  We first recognize this when we are young; for example, if you played on any sports team, you understood that every person on your team is a vital asset to winning the game.  We all know there is no “I” in team and if there is, well, I am sure you are worn out, overwhelmed, and stressed.  But most likely, you have a great group of individuals that have worked hard and diligently to see your company be successful.  So, here is your chance to let them know how much you appreciate them.  One way you can do this is by giving personalized Thank-you notes to each of your team members, thanking them for all they have personally contributed to your business.

Be thankful to friends and family.

This one is a given– but is it? In western culture, we can get caught up in so many tasks that we forget those closest to us.  We often think that “they know how I feel,” but sometimes taking the time to say how thankful you are to friends and family is just what they needed.  If it wasn’t for your family’s support or your friend’s encouraging words, you might not be where you are today.  So, when you are sitting around the Thanksgiving table or watching a football game—reach over, tap them on the arm and say, “Thanks for being here for me.”

And don’t forget to thank those whom your business depends on

– your customers.

Your customers are the reason your business still exists, especially those who have been patrons of your business for many years.
